St. Croix Man With a Knife Enters Ex-Partner’s Residence Without Permission

A St. Croix man entered his ex-partner’s residence without permission and pointed a knife at her, the V.I. Police Department reported Monday.

On Sunday, at approximately 4:52 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of a domestic disturbance in progress at Lorraine Village Apartments on St. Croix. Contact was made with the victim, who stated that when she arrived home, her ex-partner, Ahmad A. Gachette, was inside her apartment, according to the police report.

The victim stated that Gachette aimed a knife at her, and she called for police assistance. The victim indicated that she did not give Gachette permission to enter her apartment, the police report stated.

Gachette, 20, was present at the Wilbur H. Francis Command police station Sunday to give a statement. Mr. Gachette was advised of his Miranda Rights and admitted to entering the victim’s residence without her permission, the report stated.

He was charged with forcible and unlawful entry domestic violence, assault third domestic violence, and possession of a dangerous weapon. Gachette was placed under arrest, booked and transported to the John A. Bell Correctional Facility pending his advice of rights hearing, police said.
