Merle R. Penha-Murphy, 76, of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands passed away unexpectedly in Hyattsville, Md., after complications from a motor vehicle accident. Her spirit will continue to live in the hearts of those who loved her.
The funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 19, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Anna’s Retreat. There will be a viewing the morning of the service from 9-10 a.m. Interment will be in Western Cemetery No. 1.
She is survived by her husband, Lamont Murphy; daughter, Dr. Erica Jarrett- Murrill; brother, Ivor Penha; sisters: Dianne Tyson, Aloma (Lomie) Barnabas, Judy P. Rohan, Maxine P. Turnbull and Dianne Penha-Smith; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
