Commissioner Dionne Wells-Hedrington Ed.D. of the Virgin Islands Department of Education (VIDE), and Chief Turnaround Officer Maria Tirado Melendez, Ph.D. have announced the inauguration of a groundbreaking Leadership Academy in the U.S. Virgin Islands for V.I. Department of Education’s senior cabinet members, state directors, assistant directors, principals, assistant principals, and district coordinators.
This innovative initiative aims to nurture and develop the next generation of leaders within the community.
Supported by the expertise and collaboration of the National Academic Educational Partners, the Leadership Academy will offer participants a comprehensive curriculum spanning 10 intensive sessions. These sessions are meticulously designed to cultivate essential leadership skills and empower individuals to thrive in their respective roles and contribute meaningfully to the progress of the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Commissioner Wells-Hedrington expressed her enthusiasm about the project, saying, “Investing in leadership development is pivotal for the growth and sustainability of the VIDE and our community.
