Larry Dean Loy Dies at 71

Larry Dean Loy

Larry Dean Loy, also known as “Lucky,” of Christiansted, St. Croix, passed away at his home on Monday, Oct. 23.  He was 71 years of age.

Lucky was a one-of-a-kind man who was a treasure on the island.  He was loved by many and would be there to help anyone in need.  He is famous for his Lucky’s Hot Sauce around the island. He is also known for his stone mason/contractor skills, (one of the best between the island and Kentucky). You can also try the Lucky’s sandwich at Ziggy’s Market.

Larry is originally from Kentucky but came to St. Croix 33 years ago to assist with clean-up/rebuilding from Hurricane Hugo. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents: Barbara J. Loy and Harold D. Loy; brother, Ron Loy; sister-in-law, Liz Loy; and nephew, Joey Loy.

He is survived by his step-mother, Dottie Loy; daughters: Chasity N. Martin and Summer M. Loy; grandchildren: Hunter W.  Smith, Peyton J. Martin and Summer M. Martin; brother, Rick Loy; sister-in-law, Mary Loy; nieces: Kathy Adams, Patty Koziarz and Tammy Loy; nephew, Eric Loy; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

In lieu of flowers, you can make donations to the family at Bank of St. Croix under the Larry D. Loy account ending in 2332

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Schuster’s Crematorium LLC.
