Second Suspect Arrested in Beating of Elderly Man

A St. Thomas woman has been arrested for beating an elderly man with a chain, the V.I. Police Department reported Wednesday.

Yoshiri Rivera, 31, was arrested and charged with assault first, assault third, aiding and abetting, elderly abuse, and disturbance of the peace after being observed on camera footage beating an elderly man repeatedly with a chain, according to the police report.

Rivera turned herself into the authorities and turned over to the Bureau of Correction. Her bail was set at $75,000, the police report stated.
