Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett released the following statement announcing a Virgin Islands History Month Contest:

“As we prepare to celebrate Virgin Islands History Month, my office will be hosting a creative competition for all students, grades K-12. The contest will run from Feb. 15 through March 15 (the deadline is March 15). We invite students to create an original video or a visual presentation with a reenactment, reading or other creative presentation of/or inspired by a speech, scene, artistic work or event in Virgin Islands’ history or culture.

“We must continue to recognize the many powerful voices and stories of Virgin Islanders in our past and to the present. I’m sure we will all benefit when we show Virgin Islands students how to utilize their creativity to highlight the voices and stories of our magnificent home.”

All submissions must be emailed to ask.stacey@mail.house.gov by or before Wednesday, March 15, 2023. For additional information, please contact our offices on St. Croix at 778-5900 or on St. Thomas at 774-4408.
