The Rotary Club of Asheville Metro donated 54 HydraBarriers to the Rotary Club of St. Croix West, which were distributed to members of the St. Croix community on Monday June 27.

HydraBarriers provide an alternative solution to sandbags for the protection of valuable assets from flooding and water damage. They divert water as effectively as sandbags, but they are easier to use.

Installation involves placement where needed and the use of a garden hose to fill the portable HydraBarriers with water.  These alternative barriers to sandbags are durable, come in a variety of sizes and are reusable.  They can be emptied after a flooding hazard passes, which enables the user to easily store them for future use.

Rotary Club of St. Croix West, particularly thanks Larry Keating, the 2021-2022 president of Rotary Club of Asheville Metro and the members of his club for raising over $2,000 to purchase the HydraBarriers and labels, and the hose adapters used to fill them.
