Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. is out of the territory for the National Governors Association (NGA) Winter Meetings in Washington, D.C., and he also has scheduled meetings with a number of federal agencies.

During the conference, the governor, who is a co-chairman of the NGA’s Community Renewal Task Force with Missouri’s Gov. Mike Parson, will be attending a reception at the White House with President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. As part of the conference, he also will attend the Senior Plenary Meeting of the Interagency Group on Insular Affairs with officials from all of the territories.

Bryan is scheduled to testify before the Senate Committee on Natural Resources with senators Joe Manchin and Lisa Murkowski.

He will meet with FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswall, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Adrianne Todman, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Gregory Meeks of New York, Sen. Mike Crapo of Idaho, Rep. Bryan Steil of Wisconsin, a ranking member of the Select Committee on Economic Disparity and Fairness in Growth, and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York.

Other meetings the governor has scheduled while in the nation’s capital include sessions with representatives of the U.S. departments of Transportation, Commerce, Interior, Health and Human Services, Labor, Energy, Agriculture, State and the Environmental Protection Agency.

During Bryan’s absence, Lt. Gov. Tregenza Roach will be the acting governor.

The Bryan-Roach Administration continues to be committed to transparency, stabilizing the economy, restoring trust in government and ensuring the disaster recovery is completed as quickly as possible.
