Shooting Victim Treated for Wounded Foot

A man was treated at the Schneider Regional Medical Center for a wound he received in a shooting Monday afternoon in the Savan area of St. Thomas, the V.I. Police Department reported.

At about 2:07 p.m. Monday the 911 emergency call center dispatched officers to the hospital after receiving a report of a 28-year-old male gunshot victim.

The victim told officers he was in Savan when he was approached by what appeared to be two passengers driving a gray vehicle. He said the suspects fired multiple shots at him, striking him in his foot, then left the area heading west on Kronprindsens Gade.

The victim stated he had no knowledge of who shot him or why he may have been targeted.

Police urged anyone with information about the incident to call 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at -340-774-2211 extension 5575, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
