Minnesota Woman Charged as a Fugitive from Justice

At 5 p.m. Monday, detectives arrested Crystal Renee Simmons, age 34 of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, charging her with being a fugitive from justice.

According to the V.I. Police Department, Simmons had been detained at the Cyril E. King Airport by Customs and Border Protection agents as she attempted to board a flight. She has an active warrant from the Sheriff’s Office in Jefferson County, Alabama, wanted for charges of identity theft – obtaining goods and services. VIPD detectives were notified, and Simmons was placed under arrest.

Simmons was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections without bail, pending her extradition hearing.
