Department of Health Reports Territory’s 18th COVID Death

An 18th Virgin Islander died of COVID-19 over the weekend, according to statistics reported Tuesday morning by the Department of Health. The deceased is a 68-year-old female on St. Croix, the department said.

According to the updated report on the Health website, 17,459 U.S. Virgin Islands residents have now been tested for coronavirus, and 1,191 of them have tested positive as of Monday night, an increase of one from Sunday’s statistics. The report said 16,253 have rested negative, an increase of 23, and 15 tests are still pending.

The number of active cases of COVID-19 in the territory dropped by two, from 105 Sunday to 103 Monday, with one case moved to “recovered,” bringing that total to 1,070, and one added to the “fatality” column, the 18th COVID-19 death in the territory.
