MBW Raises Over $30,000 by Donations From IGY and Discover Fund Management

My Brother’s Workshop prepares meals for the most vulnerable during this COVID-19 crisis.

Inspired by the generosity shown by My Brother’s Workshop (MBW) supporters on #GivingTuesdayNow, Discover Fund Management pledged to match all donations made to MBW from May 6-31, up to $10,000. Within five days, the community had answered that match. Then, The Island Caribbean Relief Fund, a 501c3 organization led by Island Global Yachting, supported by its shareholders and partners made a $10,000 donation.

Therefore, over $30,000 was raised to provide meals and essential items to the vulnerable population of the Virgin Islands while keeping the trainees enrolled in MBW and engaged in their program of mentorship, education, mental health counseling, on the job training and job placement.

My Brother’s Workshop has partnered with local government agencies, businesses and other non-profits during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide meals and essential supplies to seniors, homeless, displaced school children, those with compromised immune systems, and families with medical or special needs in the territory.

MBW’s long standing partnerships in the community and its actions after Irma and Maria have put them in a position to stand in the gap for these vulnerable groups while avoiding duplicating response efforts.
