Luis A. Belardo Dies at 58

Luis A. Belardo

Luis A. Belardo of Christiansted, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, died on Friday, July 5. He was 58 years old.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice A. Belardo; grandparents: Gregorio Belardo Sr. and Vincentia Belardo; uncles: Warren, Henry and Daryle Walcott, Amadore Belardo and Alpheus Rogers.

He is survived by his ex-spouse, Angela Belardo; father, Graciano Belardo Sr.; godson, Miguel Thomas; sisters: Maria Ballantine and Janice Dore; sisters-in-law: Jeanette, Sherrie and Lihn; brothers: Rafael, Jose, Graciano Jr., Robelto and Angel Belardo; brothers-in-law: Gregory Ballantine and Roy Dore; nieces: Kimberly Clarke, Kristina Charles, Alicia and Simelia; nephews: Jose Jr. and Otayga; nephew-in-law, Roberto Clarke Sr.; and great-niece, Nadine.

He is also survived by great nephews: Jeniah, Jelani, Je’Mahri and Mario Jr.; aunts: Mercedes, Cenita, Carmen, Isabel, Edina Mae and Jennifer; uncles: Lorenzo, Pablo, Charles, Criminatus and Horst Cerni; and special friends: the Virgin Islands Postal Service Community, residents and business owners of Christiansted Town, Eric, Florentina, Ina A. McIntosh, the Jacobs family, the Schjang family, the Adams family, Gerard Nicholson and Phillip Pugh.

Other survivors include cousins and other relatives: the Andersen family, the McGregor family, the Sobratti family, the Walcott family, the Belardo family, the Cerni family, the Raines family, the Nicholson family, the Dore family, Rhenita Charles and the Smith family; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

A memorial service will be held at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Christiansted, St. Croix, at 10 a.m., Friday, July 26. The family requests that everyone in attendance wear festive colors.
