Project Promise’s second annual fundraiser to support its Caterpillar Project Program (TCP) took place on the evening of Feb. 10 at Fort Frederik, Frederiksted. This year’s theme was ‘Havana Nights,’ and guests were treated to an authentic Cuban experience. The sold-out fundraiser offered Cuban cuisine, antique cars, salsa dancing, dominoes and much more. Entertainment was provided by Cuban-native Rivert Diaz as well as Eddie Russell and friends. The 300 plus attendees had the opportunity to win a trip for two to Havana.
Because the U.S. Virgin Islands was devastated with the passing of two Category 5 hurricanes, Project Promise will be donating 10 percent of the ticket sales from its fundraiser to benefit the V.I. Department of Education in both districts.

se of normalcy to their everyday learning environment,” said Project Promise founder and president Resa O’Reilly.
The proceeds from Havana Nights will also benefit Project Promise’s Caterpillar Project, a long-term program designed to make a significant difference in the lives of at-risk youth on St. Croix. TCP began on Jan. 25, 2016, with selected fifth graders from the Lew Muckle Elementary School.
