VIWMA Advises Community of Proper Solid Waste, Waste Water Disposal Regulations

Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority

The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) reminds the community to dispose of household waste at bin sites and convenience centers only. Trash illegally dumped in neighborhoods causes health hazards for the residents.

No waste may be disposed of in a manhole or waterway. VIWMA has specifically designated facilities for this purpose.

Those found in violation of these rules are subject to a fine of up to $1,000 and/or 180 days in jail.

Please call 844-WMA-USVI (VIWMA’s 24-hour hotline) to report any violation or concern.

For more information, contact the Communications Management Division at 513 7236 or email communications@viwma.org.
