All STX Public School Students to Be in Session Monday

Public schools on St. Croix will be in session starting on Monday, and buses will be available for all students, including those who used to walk to school but now have to be bused due to school relocation to new buildings.

St. Croix School District Insular Superintendent Colleen Mae Williamsa nnounced the schedule Friday at the regular news conference updating the territory’s hurricane recovery progress.

Students will attend classes on the following schedule Monday:

– Claude O. Markoe Elementary School will have a split session. Markoe students will have the morning session, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Alexander Henderson Elementary School students will attend the afternoon session at Markoe from noon to 4:30 p.m.

– Ricardo Richards Elementary School will have a split session. Richards students will have the morning session, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Lew Muckle Elementary School students will attend the afternoon session at Richards Elementary School from noon to 4:30 p.m.

– Eulalie R. Rivera Elementary School students will attend the afternoon session at the St. Croix Educational Complex from noon to 4:30 p.m.

– Alfredo Andrews Elementary School students will attend the afternoon session at the St. Croix Educational Complex, Career and Technical Educational Center from noon to 4:30 p.m.

For those students who are in the morning session, bus pick up will be at 6:45 a.m. For students in the afternoon session, bus pick up will be at 11 a.m. – except for students from Rivera and Andrews Elementary Schools, whose bus pickups will be at 10:30 a.m. There will be designated bus stops for each school location.

By Monday, St. Croix will have eight elementary schools, three junior high schools, two high schools, one career and technical school, one youth rehabilitation center, one alternative school and one adult education program in session.
