Rumors of Elena Christian Roof Collapse Untrue

Rumors circulating on social media and on some broadcast media outlets of a roof collapse at Elena Christian Jr. High School due to heavy overnight winds on Tuesday are untrue, according to the Department of Education. Elena Christian remained in full session Wednesday and there was no damage to the school’s facilities.

However another St. Croix school, Alfredo Andrews Elementary, did dismiss classes Wednesday due to wind damage the night before. Alfredo Andrews Elementary students resume classes Thursday.
