Educational Complex Closes Track for Full Scale Repairs

The Virgin Islands Department of Education (VIBE) – St. Croix Office of the Insular Superintendent is informing students, parents and the public that the St. Croix Educational Complex (SCEC) High School track will be closed beginning Sunday, Oct. 30, for a 10-month period in order to facilitate needed repairs. The closure is also extended to all related outdoor athletic structures including bleachers and the football field.

During the closure, essential upgrades will also be made, to include newly constructed restroom facilities.

Arrangements are in place for SCEC student-athletes to use other locations to continue their practices and sporting activities. Community residents who use the track regularly are also asked to seek out alternative locations to continue their health and fitness regimens.

The Superintendent’s Office regrets the inconvenience, but it looks forward to providing SCEC students and St. Croix residents with a safe and modern athletic facility when the track reopens.
