Police Arrest Man on Rape, Other Charges

The V.I. Police Department arrested Ephraim Rivera on a Superior Court warrant charging him with rape and a variety of other charges. The suspect was placed on house arrest.

The arrest took place at 7:30 p.m. Friday, VIPD reported in a news release issued Tuesday. The police did not give any information about the incident the charges arose from.

Rivera has been charged with first-degree rape, first-degree assault, false imprisonment and first-degree unlawful sexual contact. His advice of rights hearing was held Tuesday and he was placed on house arrest with electronic monitoring.
