Potable water service in areas of Frederiksted will be without service temporarily Monday evening, the V.I. Water and Power Authority announced.
WAPA rescheduled a water service interruption, which had been scheduled for Wednesday, due to inclement weather. The interruption is now scheduled from 8 p.m. to midnight Monday.
Customers west of Estate Two Williams, including Estates Whim, Hannah’s Rest, Two Brothers, Smithfield, the town of Frederiksted, Concordia West and Estate La Grange, may experience low to no water pressure while WAPA’s maintenance crews replace a defective valve to upgrade the current water system, the agency said.
WAPA urged customers to store adequate water for use during this service interruption, and reminded drivers to adhere to all traffic directions to ensure the safety of crews, pedestrians and other drivers.
