Two Injured in Good Hope Shooting

A man and woman were shot and seriously injured Monday evening during an incident in the Good Hope Condominiums, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to police, the 911 center received a call via radio from an on-duty officer of shots being fired around the Whim and Campo Rico area. While investigating the area, 911 received a phone call indicating that there was a gunshot victim in the vicinity of a Good Hope Town House requesting assistance.

Officers and detectives responded to the area and came in contact with two gunshot victims, a man and a woman with multiple gunshot wounds about their bodies. The victims were identified as 26-year-old Robert Brown and 33-year-old Nioka Shaw.

The two were rushed by ambulance to the Gov. Juan Luis Hospital for treatment. They were unable to give police any information due to the severity of their wounds, other than to say they had no knowledge as to the identity of the shooter.

Detectives and officers also recovered a bag in the area that contained what appeared to be a high-powered rifle.

Police asked anyone with information concerning the incident to phone the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-712-6024 or 340-712-6037, the 911 emergency call center or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
