Police Investigate Sion Farm Armed Robbery

A 61-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint Monday night in the front yard of his Estate Sion Farm home, the V.I. Police Department reported.

At roughly 8:31pm, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of a home invasion that had taken place in Estate Sion Farm. Responding officers met with the homeowner, whose name was not released by police. He told the offices he’d been walking to his vehicle that was parked in his yard when he was accosted by three masked men unknown to him.

Two of the suspects, armed with hand guns, demanded money. When the resident told them he had none, one of the suspects struck him several times with the butt of a gun, and then stuck the weapon into the victim’s mouth.

The suspects took the victim’s keys, wallet, mobile phone and his 2001 white Chevy S10 pickup truck, license number CDS-610, and left the area.

An all-points bulletin was placed on the vehicle and the victim was transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital’s emergency room for medical treatment.

The incident is under investigation and police asked anyone with information concerning crime to contact 911 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
