Two Killed in Separate Shootings

Three men were shot, two fatally, in a pair of shootings Friday night and early Saturday morning, the V.I. Police Department reported.

The two victims were identified by police as 20-year-old Kimoy Lynch. and 25-year-old Shadon Beazer of Harborview Aparments. They were the 12th and 13th homicides on St. Croix since the beginning of the year, and bring the territory’s total for the year to 30, not including suicides and vehicular homicides.

At 10:02 p.m. Friday, the body of a man was found in Ha’ Penny Beach on St. Croix.

Officers, responding to a call of gunfire in the area arrived at the scene and discovered the body of a young black male lying slightly off the beach.

The victim appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was later identified as Lynch.

At 3:59 a.m. Saturday, two men were shot in the parking lot of the Penthouse Rooftop Nightclub in Estate Peter’s Rest, police reported.

Details of the shooting were still being developed as of noon Saturday, but the nightclub had been the scene of a peaceful musical event, the police said.

One of the men, a 27-year old whose name was not released by the VIPD, was hit in the thigh by a bullet and transported to the Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital for treatment. His condition was not known as of Saturday afternoon.

The second victim of the shooting died on the scene from the injuries he’d sustained. He was identified as Beazer.
