Evadney Newton Elwyn of Estate Richmond died on Sept. 5. She was 85 years old.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Eleanor; son, Kenneth; grandchildren: Leontyne and Jermaine; and great-grandchild, Jasmine.
She is survived by her daughters: Eunice, Virginia, Adaline, Joy and Sharon; sons: Melroy, Wayne, Marc and Joseph (adopted); and grandchildren: Gregory, Monique, Jacqueline, Rayborne, Euraina, Leila, Jason, Tamara, Florisa, Hope, Kenneth, Kareem, Aphia, Wayne Jr., Candice, Janae, Darnique, Kaela, Dumari and Joel.
She is also survived by great-grandchildren: Daryl, Jada, Myasia, Donovan, Sheanna, Parice, Alaya, Jamal, Malik, Zion, Cameron, Jahmal, Kasim, Kareem, Devon, Camora, Sade, Jared, Stephon, Stephen, Courtney, Daeja, Rayborne, Kirsten and Equay; great-great grandchildren: Eric, Maliah, Marcus, Amari, Amya, Seeni, Anaishae and Amore; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will take place at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, at Beulah A.M.E. Zion Church. Interment will be at Beulah A.M.E. Private Cemetery.
