A series of concerts beginning Sunday will give both locals and visitors a chance to immerse themselves in Crucian culture, when the V.I. Department of Sports, Parks and Recreation presents, "Quelbe at Sunset."
"Quelbe at Sunset is an effort to provide the residents and visitors of St. Croix the opportunity to experience, learn and enjoy the cultural aspects of the Virgin Islands through music," the department said in a news release issued Friday.
The first concert will be from 4 to 10 p.m. Sunday at the Verne I. Richards Veteran Memorial Park on Strand Street in Frederiksted. The concert will feature Mind, Body & Soul Band, the Renaissance Band, and cultural torchbearers Stanley and the Ten Sleepless Knights.
On Friday, Quelbe at Sunset will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Park with the Russell Ensemble as the featured performing artist.
Food, drinks and toys will be on sale during both events.
