Man Arrested on Domestic Violence and Burglary Charges

Dejani Plante of St. Croix was arrested about noon Monday by V.I. Police officers investigating a report of an assault early Sunday.

According to the department’s news release, officers were dispatched at 1:32 a.m. Sunday to the Harborview Apartments in response to a call of a woman being assaulted. The woman told police that Plante, her former boyfriend, had broken into her apartment using a knife.

The two began arguing and Plante assaulted her, officers were told.

At roughly noon Monday, officers with the Domestic Violence Unit arrested Plante and charged him with domestic violence-related second-degree assault and burglary.

Plante was held without bail and remanded to the Golden Grove Correctional Facility pending his advice of rights hearing.
