Police Investigate Rape of Minor

Police on St. Croix are investigating a rape that was reported just before 9 p.m. Thursday when the parents of a 14-year-old girl told police their daughter was taken against her will and sexually assaulted on a beach in Estate Whim.

According to the preliminary report, the girl was walking along the Queen Mary Highway near Estate Cane when a Hispanic male in a blue sedan drove up beside her and forced her into his vehicle. The minor told her parents the man took her to a beach in Whim, sexually assaulted her, and then brought her back to the same area that he took her from.

This case is being followed up by Special Victims Unit detectives.
