CFVI Announces Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarships

Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI) announces scholarships. CFVI awarded a total of more than $340,750 in scholarships in 2011 to talented students from the Virgin Islands.
Interlochen Center for the Arts Summer Camp Scholarship
CFVI invites public and private school students to apply for this scholarship of up to $2,500 which is funded through the generosity of the Prior Family Foundation.
To qualify for the Interlochen Scholarship, a student must:
Attend a public or private school on St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix;
Provide documentation of acceptance into the 2013 Interlochen Center for the Arts Summer Camp program;
Demonstrate financial need.

Undergraduate Scholarships:
A-9 VI Recycling Inc. Scholarships: Two scholarships of $2,500 each to graduating high school seniors pursuing a degree in environmental science or related field.
Alexander A. Farrelly: One $1,500 Scholarship in early childhood or health sciences
Artrelle M. Wheatley Scholarship: One year full tuition to the University of the Virgin Islands, to a student with an outstanding record in community service who will have completed two semesters at UVI by June 2013.
Barry Law Enforcement Scholarship: $2500 awarded to a graduating senior of Charlotte Amalie High School pursuing a degree in Law Enforcement.
Cynthia De Haynes Health Science Scholarship: $4,000 scholarship to an undergraduate or graduate student with a 3.0 or greater GPA, who is already enrolled in, or has been accepted into a program of alternative medicine, pharmacy or nursing.
Coral World Scholarship: $3,500 to a student pursuing a four-year degree in science at any accredited college or university, with first preference going to applicants in the fields of environmental science or marine biology.
Government Employee Retirement System Scholarships: Up to three renewable grants of approximately $2,250 per semester each to a graduating high school student from St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John who are dependents of contributing members of GERS.
Heavy Materials Scholarship: One-year scholarships of up to $3,300 for graduating seniors who have, or whose parents have, resided in the USVI for at least 10 years, to attend college, technical or vocational school.
Isaac and Rebecca Paiewonsky Scholarship: An award of $2,000 per year for up to four years, to a graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School.
Lana Vento Scholarship: Up to $10,000 in scholarships available to undergraduate or graduate students, preferably students interested in marine and environmental sciences.
Nigel O. Hodge Foundation Scholarship: $1,000 to a graduating senior who is interested in a degree related to health, medicine and nursing at an accredited college or university.
Theodore E. Sharp Scholar Awards: $2,000 award to one student or $1,000 to two students with outstanding records in community service that have applied to, or are already enrolled in, an accredited college or university.
Tunick Family Fund Scholarship: An award of $1,000 to a student at the University of the Virgin Islands, with academic excellence and financial need who is pursuing an undergraduate degree in business.
Anna Walsh Scholar Awards: Ten scholarships of $1,000 awarded to students who have applied to, or are already enrolled in, any accredited college or university.
Graduate Scholarships: In addition to the scholarships for undergraduate students, CFVI also has the following scholarships available for students pursuing graduate degrees:
CAHS Alumni Physician Scholarship Fund: $5,000 per year for a 4-year period to a CAHS graduate who attended CAHS for at least 3 years and resided in the V.I. for at least 5 years and who has been accepted to an accredited U.S. medical school.
Cynthia De Haynes Health Science Scholarship: $4,000 scholarship to an undergraduate or graduate student with a 3.0 or greater GPA, who is already enrolled in, or has been accepted into a program of alternative medicine, pharmacy or nursing.
Lana Vento Scholarship: Up to $10,000 in scholarships to students seeking a Master of Marine and Environmental Science degree, preferably enrolled in the program at the University of the Virgin Islands. Students studying Ocular medicine will also be considered.
NSL Graduate Studies Fund Scholarship: An award of $2,000 to a student pursuing graduate degrees in the humanities, the social sciences or the fine arts.
