Police Investigate Shooting in Williams Delight

Police on St. Croix are investigating a nonfatal shooting that occurred Monday in Estate Williams Delight.

Officers were called to the area at 11:30 a.m. Monday and found a man injured by at least one gunshot to his upper body and, according to the Police Department, the injury may have been self-inflicted.

The victim, a 17-year-old male, was treated at the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center.

The case remains active and is being investigated by detectives of the Criminal Investigation Bureau. Anyone with additional information is asked to call detectives at 712-6037 or 712-6077, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers, at 1-800-222-TIPS.
