Volunteers Needed for Point in Time Count of the Homeless

The Virgin Islands Continuum of Care will conduct a Point in Time Count and survey of the territory’s homeless population from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26. The count is mandated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and is used to justify the need for federal funding for homeless services in the Virgin Islands.
During the count, volunteers will survey a sample of unsheltered homeless persons through one-on-one interviews to gather critical information to assist in better determining and serving the needs of the homeless.
Volunteers are needed to facilitate this count. Anyone interested in volunteering should call:
Catholic Charities, St. Thomas: 777-8518
Catholic Charities, St. Croix: 773-0132
