Crime Stoppers: Help Stop Crime

Crime Stoppers’ minimum cash reward for the arrest of a thief is $714 plus 10 percent of the retail value of property recovered. Their maximum reward is $2,500. Be part of the solution and continue to make the community safer by telling what you know at www.CrimeStoppersUSVI.org or by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or by texting “USVI” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).

Crime Stoppers asks that if you know something about the following cases to please say something. Even the smallest bit of information may be just what law enforcement needs to solve them.

St. John: On Dec. 23 at 4:45 p.m., a man went to the restroom at Trunk Bay and placed his wedding band on top off the hand dryer while washing his hands. He forgot to take the ring with him; when he remembered shortly after, he ran back in to get it but it had been taken. The wedding band is white & yellow gold with five small diamonds in the white gold portion. When you look at the ring on the top it looks like a triangle and from the side view it looks square. The minimum reward for the return of this band is $300.

St. Thomas: On Nov. 3 at 11:45 a.m., a man discovered that his car, parked in the area of the Dutch Reform Church, had been broken into. His 15-inch gray Toshiba Tablet and carrying case was stolen.

St. Croix: The V.I. Police Department thanks the public for the 144 tips provided in 2012. “Your tips were very helpful and so far have led to 15 additional arrests,” a statement from Crime Stoppers reports. Please keep the information coming.

If your tip leads to an arrest or the recovery of stolen property, illegal drugs or weapons, you will receive a reward to be paid according to your instructions. Only anonymous callers to Crime Stoppers are eligible for these cash rewards.
