Man Charged with Nonfatal Shooting

V.I. Police Department detectives arrested Josayo Williams on Tuesday and charged him with first-degree assault for allegedly shooting a man earlier this month in the JFK housing community.

Police said Williams, 19, was positively identified as the person who shot another man on Dec. 6 after a verbal confrontation.

Detectives said that prior to the shooting, Williams and the victim exchanged words, with Williams reportedly telling the victim he did not like how he was looking at him. Williams allegedly left the area, returned and saw the victim, firing several shots at him.

The victim was hit in the upper left arm and right hip.

Bail for Williams was set at $150,000 and he was remanded to the custody of the Golden Grove Correctional Facility.
