Points of Emphasis

Junior Varsity Pitchers must adhere to the following requirements, according to Steve Parris, St. Thomas-St. John IAA baseball commissioner

A player can pitch no more than 95 pitches in a day, but can complete that batter’s at bat.
• If a player pitches 66 or more pitches in a day, four calendar days of rest must be observed.
• If a player pitches 51 – 65 pitches in a day, three calendar days of rest must be observed.
• If a player pitches 36 – 50 pitches in a day, two calendar days of rest must be observed.
• If a player pitches 21 – 35 pitches in a day, one calendar day of rest must be observed.
• If a player pitches 1-20 pitches in a day, no calendar day of rest is required.
Varsity Pitchers must adhere to the following requirements:
• A player can pitch no more than 105 pitches in a day, but can complete that batter’s at bat.
• If a player pitches 76 or more pitches in a day, four calendar days of rest must be observed.
• If a player pitches 61 – 75 pitches in a day, three calendar days of rest must be observed.
• If a player pitches 46 – 60 pitches in a day, two calendar days of rest must be observed.
• If a player pitches 31 -45 pitches in a day, one calendar day of rest must be observed.
• If a player pitches 1-30 pitches in a day, no calendar day of rest is required.
The junior varsity game shall be 1:30 in length. No new inning shall begin after that time has elapsed.
The varsity game shall be 2:00 in length. No new inning shall begin after that time has elapsed.
Umpires shall be paid $30 for junior varsity and $40 for varsity.
Each team shall be required to pay one umpire per game.
Each team shall bring two or three new A1010 baseballs and three or four A1010 baseballs in good condition.
The home team is responsible for scoring the game.
