Simonsen Presents “The Great Hermit Crab Migration Video” at Audubon Meeting

Renowned St. John photographer/videographer Steve Simonsen will be the speaker at the Tuesday, Nov. 20, Virgin Islands Audubon Society meeting. Simonsen will show and discuss his video “The Great Hermit Crab Migration.” It will be held at 7 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the Marketplace (next door to Zero Sushi), Cruz Bay.
Simonsen got a hot tip one morning and out he went, cameras in hand. What he photographed — “The Great Hermit Crab Migration” — turned out to be a spectacular shoot.
He posted his video on Facebook and the video went “viral,” meaning it was shared over and over and over again. Among outlets that picked the video up and posted it were the Discovery Channel in Canada and the Animal Planet Web blog. ABC’s “Good Morning, America” even ran it on one of its morning segments.
The public is invited to attend the meeting, and there is no charge.
