Third Annual Rastafari Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market Planned for Nov. 18

The United Caribbean Association Inc. Agricultural Committee will be hosting its third annual Rastafari Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market beginning at 9 a.m. on St. Croix on Sunday, Nov. 18. The committee is seeking to highlight cultural and traditional practices, and educate our community on the need to stimulate and promote an agricultural industry. The venue will be set-up to include a demonstration booth, which will allow for individuals to conduct various types of presentations. They may include but are not limited to farming and gardening pointers/tips, crafts techniques, cooking preparation, recipes, juicing tips, etc. The goal is to develop and maintain a steady agricultural and cultural industry within the territory in hopes of becoming self-sufficient.
Anyone interested in being a cooked food vendor, produce vendor, arts and crafts vendor or information vendor, please join the Rastafari Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11, at Midre Cummings Childrens’ Park in Frederiksted or contact Iria Stiles at 332-1959, Ras Shalom at 332-9250 or Sis Yulette at 277-5178.
