Viola Hawkins died on Aug. 13, at the age of 90 at her residence.
She is survived by her child, Charlesworth “Lou” Joseph; grandchildren: Joycelyn, Jacqueline and Joselyn Joseph, and Gwendolyn Fahie; great-grandchildren: Devon Lewis, Lashawn Stevens, Shatrice, Shatemo and Shathea Fahie, Kamilah and Kandysee Leonard, and Jamoi Edinborough; great-great grandchildren: Trauvaughn, Giovanni and Semaii Lewis, K’Jami and Makhai Jules and Shenaii Moore; nieces: Roma Phillips, Veronica James, Dorothy Hutchinson, Bernadette Roberts, Albertine Joseph, Dorothy Richards, Clytie Hughes, Vera Richards, Roma Jarvis; nephews: Winston Jarvis, Ensworth, Godfrey and Sylvester Richards, and Barry Hughes; caretakers: Kwameka “Sha Sha” Brown, the staff at Continuum Care, the nursing staff of the Lucinda Millin Home.
There will be a viewing held at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Interment will be in Western Cemetery No. 3.
