Educators Begin New School Year With Technology Integration Conference

District and school-based administrators, along with faculty and staff and support staff members on St. Croix will be exploring opportunities in the digital workplace during a Curriculum, Instruction and Technology Integration Conference set to begin later this week. The theme for the conference is “Creating Schools in the St. Croix School District that Effectively Integrate Technology to Provide a World-Class Education for All Students.”
Conference workshops are scheduled on Friday, Aug. 24, at the St. Croix Curriculum Center for District and school-based administrators only. Conference activities continue from Monday, Aug. 27 to Thursday, Aug. 30 at the Career and Technical Education Center at the St. Croix Educational Complex. School personnel including administrators are expected to attend on the day indicated for each school, as per the schedule shown below. Each day registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The opening session on Friday begins promptly at 8 a.m. and will include remarks by the Superintendent of Schools.
Educators are scheduled to participate in the conference as follows:
· August 24 — district and school-based administrators
· August 27 — elementary teachers/paraprofessionals and librarians from Claude O. Markoe, Alexander Henderson, Eulalie Rivera, Evelyn Williams, and Pearl B. Larsen
· August 28 — elementary teachers/paraprofessionals and librarians from Alfredo Andrews, Ricardo Richards, Lew Muckle, Juanita Gardine and Charles H. Emanuel elementary schools
· August 29 — school psychologists, school social workers, and secondary teachers/paraprofessionals and librarians from all secondary schools, including the Alternative Education Program
· August 30 — counselors, registrars, secretaries and all other support staff members
Conference objectives are to increase student achievement, improve teacher and leadership effectiveness, and to reinforce and build positive school cultures.
