Thanks to citizens in the territory, Crime Stoppers has now received almost 1,600 tips that have so far led to 170 arrests and the recovery of 89 illegal weapons. Crime Stoppers has authorized rewards totaling more than $120,000.
Crime has a cost and that cost is ultimately paid by the law abiding citizens of the community. Reducing that cost puts money back in our pockets. If you know something, say something, as law enforcement cannot control crime without your help.
Even the smallest bit of information may be just what law enforcement needs to solve these cases:
St. Croix: The police department needs your help to identify and arrest the individuals responsible for a series of robberies in the Grove Place area.
St. John: On Aug. 6 at 3:15 p.m., one of the Concordia Eco-Resort villas was burglarized by an unknown burglar or burglars who gained entry by jimmying a door lock.
St. Thomas: On July 29 about 4 a.m., a 21-year-old man reported he was driving in the area of Pilgrim’s Terrace on Mafolie Hill when someone fired several gunshots at his car. The bullets shattered the rear glass of his vehicle, and one of them struck his back. He drove himself to the hospital for medical treatment.
Let’s continue to help make our community a safer place to live by submitting information on these or any other crimes at www.CrimeStoppersUSVI.org or by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
Your tips are completely anonymous and stateside operators speak several languages. If your tip leads to an arrest or the recovery of stolen property, illegal drugs or weapons, you will receive a cash reward to be paid according to your instructions.
Only anonymous callers to Crime Stoppers are eligible for these cash rewards.
