Vance Lewis, the 2012-2013 district governor of Rotary District 7020, which includes 77 clubs on 10 islands of the northern Caribbean, will visit Rotary clubs on St. Thomas and St. John from Aug. 20-25. As part of his leadership responsibilities for this year, District Governor Lewis will meet with all six Rotary clubs on St. Thomas –St. John and tour a number of the service projects being undertaken by the clubs. His busy week will include six board meetings, three joint club meetings, and visits to service projects at Bethlehem House, the Nana Baby Home and the Schulterbrandt Center. He will also participate in the weekly radio program hosted by the Rotary Club of St. Thomas II, known as “Rotary Educating and Caring for Humanity” (REACH).
Rotarians are urged to make a special effort to come and meet Lewis, who hails from Tortola, British Virgin Islands. This week will be a special time of acknowledging the work and goals the Rotary Clubs of St. Thomas-St. John have planned for this year and remembering how much value the motto of “Service Above Self” brings to the lives of individual Rotarians and the communities that they serve.
