2 Suspects in May Robbery Arrested

Detectives from the St. Thomas Criminal Investigation Bureau on Thursday arrested two suspects in a May armed robbery, according to the V.I. Police Department.

Asymo Phipps, 23, and Treson Stephens, 21, were arrested shortly before 5:30 p.m. Thursday, the department announced, and charged with robbing a victim at gunpoint in the Hospital Ground area on May 17.

Both men were charged with first-degree robbery, according to the department’s news release. Bail for each suspect was set at $75,000 and they were remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
