Lucy Kimin Joseph-Springer Dies at 73

Lucy Kimin Joseph-Springer

Lucy Kimin Joseph-Springer, of Boeztberg, Christiansted, was granted her angel wings at the age of 73.

She is survived by her daughters: Charlene A. Springer and Alene Kemlan Springer-Fabio; sons: Kenneth Gary Springer, Ian K. Springer, Clint K. Springer and Robert Kendall Springer; grandchildren: Jerome, Romel, Ian Jr., Emily, Angelina, Travis, Andrew, Sophia and Kamen Springer, Kristopher, Kolby, Shelia, Dahlia and Li Kim Fabio; daughters-in-law: Stacy Springer and Vanessa Springer; sons-in-law: Dudley A Fabio III and Ernst J. Foerster; sisters: Margaret “Lunis” Webb (TT), Marva T. Joseph (N.Y.), Jacqueline Santana (UK); brothers-in-law: Allan Webb and Dee Santana; nieces and nephews, and other family members and friends too numerous to mention.
She was a prayerful, strong, courageous mother of six. She valued family, her children and grandchildren. She was an educator since the age of 16, teaching at Mon Repos Elementary School in Trinidad. She relocated to St. Croix and started her 29-year career at St. Mary’s Catholic School. Lucy had touched the lives of many people throughout her very memorable life. There was not a place she would go on the island without one of her former students, calling out to her saying, “Mrs. Springer…”
Her smile, sense of humour, patience, thoughtfulness, generosity, encouragement, forgivingness and dancing skills brought so much joy to whomever she came into contact with.
The celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Tributes will begin at 10 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
