Murder Suspects Moved to U.S. District Court

V.I. Police have added federal gun and murder counts to the roster of charges against Elvin Wrensford and Craig Muller, suspects in the May 10 murder of Gilbert Hendricks, and the case has been moved to U.S. District Court, according to the V.I. Police Department.

Police received reports of rapid gunfire and a man down in the Five Corners area of Estate La Grande Princesse around 10:30 that night. Witnesses reported seeing a man running and shots being fired at him from a red pickup truck.

Hendricks, 32, was shot at least once in the upper body and passed away from his injuries.

Wrensford and Muller were arrested in May and charged with Hendricks’ murder under V.I. statutes. On Thursday police rearrested Wrensford and Muller on federal charges of possession of a firearm in a school zone, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, possession of a firearm with altered identification marks, unauthorized possession of a firearm and first-degree murder.

The two were held without bail on the new charges and returned to the custody of the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility pending their court appearance, according to a police statement.
