Laura R. Gilbert, also known as “Ms. Laura” or “Ms. Lewis,” died on May 13.
She is survived by Althea Williams Hodge; niece, Mavis Roach (Florida); cousins: Joyce Newton, Dennier Thomas, Joseph and Robert “BoBo” Newton (all on St. Croix); Blandeenia Bergan and Agnes Gumbs-Williams; special friends: John “Blackie” Gumbs, Mildred Rkoceta Williams, Idalia Krigger, Rita Penn and Vincent Bergan; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention., at Turnbull’s Funeral Home. A second viewing will take place at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 25, at Christ Church Methodist. Interment will follow at Eastern Cemetery.
There will be a first viewing held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 24
