Passport Day 2012 Is Saturday, March 10

The Passport Offices will open on Saturday, March 10, in recognition of Passport Day. Both the St. Thomas and the Christiansted, St. Croix, offices will be open from 9 a.m. to noon, according to a press release issued Thursday by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor.
Residents planning to apply for or renew their traditional passports or passport cards on Passport Day are reminded that in addition to the completed passport application, they will also be required to provide two 2×2 photos, associated fees, as well as proof of citizenship and identity, to include birth or naturalization certificates and government issued identification. Additional requirements apply for minor children. Copies of the passport application are available at the Office of the Lieutenant Governor or online at www.ltg.gov.vi.
Lieutenant Governor Gregory R. Francis is encouraging residents to take advantage of the Saturday opening. “Over the years, our participation in Passport Day has allowed residents to utilize our services on weekends, without the worries of taking time from their regular workday. This is the perfect time to prepare for summer travel, and we look forward to serving our customers,” he said.
