Two St. Thomas residents were arrested this week and charged with driving under the influence.
Jessica Malone, 32, was arrested shortly before 10:30 p.m. Thursday after she almost collided with an unmarked police vehicle while driving on Beltjen Road. When the car came to a stop a few feet away, officers saw Malone, who was driving, slumped over into the passenger’s seat, according to a V.I. Police Department news release. Police detected a strong odor of alcohol on her breath, the release said.
Malone’s bail was set at $500.
In an unrelated incident, police arrested Wilson M. Bou Vasquez, 38, shortly before 1 a.m. Friday after he was seen “driving erratically” on the Moravian Highway. After smelling alcohol on his breath, police administered a field sobriety test, which Vasquez failed.
His bail was also set at $500.
