VIPD Makes Three Domestic Violence Arrests

St. Thomas police arrested three suspects in various domestic violence incidents that occurred over the weekend.

Yolanda Dolphin, 36, was arrested at approximately 1:30 p.m. Friday after she slapped her daughter and assaulted her with a broomstick and hanger, according to a V.I. Police Department news release. The release said Dolphin also threatened to cut her daughter’s hair with a knife.

Police also arrested Wilfredo Hernandez, 40, around 7:30 p.m. Saturday after he allegedly hit a woman in the face and destroyed her television. Also arrested Friday was Andrew Julien, 49, who police said choked and hit his girlfriend in her face.

Bail was denied for all suspects due to the nature of the crimes. They have all been remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
