Man Arrested for February Chain-Snatching

Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives on St. Thomas arrested Kishawn Fleming, 18, and charged him with grand larceny for allegedly snatching a gold chain off a woman’s neck in February while she was working in a bar on Krondprinsens Gade.

According to the V.I. Police Department, Fleming was 17 years old when he committed the crime in February. (The VIPD release did not explain the roughly seven-month delay between the crime and the arrest.)

According to the police report, the victim said Fleming entered the bar and asked for a drink. He then reached over the counter, snatched the victim’s chain and walked out of the bar. The victim was uninjured.

Fleming was arrested shortly after 2 p.m. Friday and released without bail to his parents’ custody.
