DPNR Provides Training for Monitoring Nesting Turtles

The Division of Fish and Wildlife will offer a free training workshop for volunteers interested in conducting daytime beach monitoring for turtle nesting activity, according to a press release issued Thursday by the Department of Planning and Natural Resources.
Topics to be covered include: types of turtles and their biology, legal protection, and monitoring methods and data collection. The workshop will take place 6-7:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 15, at the Twisted Taco Restaurant at the Pavilions and Pools Hotel on St. Thomas. Space is limited and registration in advance is required.
