Hovensa’s wholesale price for regular declined 1 cent and premium 4 cents this week, ending several weeks of steady increases according to the refinery.
After holding steady and dropping some in May, June and the beginning of July, Hovensa’s wholesale price for regular had shot up 35 cents and premium up 39 cents per gallon since July 11, before dropping slightly this week, according to data from Hovensa.
Meanwhile, the V.I. Division of Licensing and Consumer Affairs just released its survey of latest survey of retail gas prices in the territory. As of July 29, the best self service price for gasoline on St. Croix was U&W Industrial Supply, with $3.71 for regular and $3.90 for premium. The highest self-serve prices on St. Croix were $4.29 for premium and $3.99 for regular.
On St. Thomas, Total in French town had the best prices at $4.40 for regular and $4.49 for premium. St. Thomas’ highest prices for self service were $4.79 and $4.90 for regular and premium, respectively.
As alway, St. John gets hit the hardest, with E&C gas station at $4.65 for regular and $4.95 for premium.
