Marian Anderson Quartet Holds Music Camp at Montessori School

The nationally acclaimed Marian Anderson Quartet (www.Marianandersonstringquartet.com) will be holding a music camp for children interested in learning a string instrument or sharpening their skills on a string instrument. The Quartet is the 2010 Guarneri Competition winner. The camp will be held July 24-30 at the V.I. Montessori School and International Academy in conjunction with its Afterschool Suzuki Violin Program, which is year round.
There will be a free concert at Wikked at Yacht Haven Grande at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, with the Quartet; there will be a recital with the campers at the St. Thomas Reform Church at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 30. For additional information, visit the Web site or call Sherrie Davis at 998-1823 or Marcella Jennings at 473-7274. Scholarships are available. The Anderson Quartet is in need of string instrument donations such as violins, violas and cellos or a monetary donation to help with scholarships. Marian Anderson Quartet never turns anyone away based on need. This program is supported by a grant from the V.I. Council on the Arts, support from The V.I. Montessori School and International Academy, and Wikked Restaurant in Yacht Haven Grande.
